Finding Balance - April One Little Word Blog Hop

Hello all!  If you are popping over from Naomi's Blog for this months One Little Word Blog Hop, welcome!  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm so glad I picked the word "balance" for this year.  I don't think I could have picked a more perfect word for me or our life right now.

I really enjoyed this months prompt and got started on March 1st!  I knew exactly what I wanted my "take action" to be for this month.  I knew I wanted to "find balance" with all the wonderful people I have in my life....and of course, I wanted to include some time for myself.

So for March, I came up with a list of my 31 "actions" that I hoped I would be able to accomplish this month.  And I did most of them....like 24.  Our month was jam packed with job changes, listing our house, vacations and birthdays so I'm pretty amazed that I managed to get to as many as I did.

My favorites this month....
Trying chicken livers (totally not a fan, but glad I tried it)
Date night with my hubby to see The Hunger Games

I decided to capture the majority of my "actions" and plan to add them to my OLW mini book as a 6x6 photo collage.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  I'm looking forward to what April has in store for us all!!

Goodbye February, Hello March!

Wow...where did February go?  I can't believe we are already into the month of March!  My goals for February were pretty much hit or miss (see below)....and I'm okay with that.  A lot is happening at our house and the days have literally just slipped by.

For March, I decided to use my prompt from the One Little Word class to "take action" and plan 31 fun activities for myself, our family and our kids.  (Refresher: my "word" is balance so my March action list includes a balance of activities for us all)  Some of these things we would typically do anyway, and some are new.  Regardless, we will have fun this month!  I have taped this list onto the inside of our cabinet for easy reference throughout the month!!

On to my February goals...

The cinnamon sugar pull apart bread and the rosemary bread were fabulous and are definintely on my "to-make-again-soon" list!

I spent lots of time knitting my blanket....and it's going to take a lot more time.  Did you know it's almost impossible to knit around a 3-year old?  Who knew??  :)

I have all my supplies to make my stenciled pillow.....maybe this month, huh??
And that picture wall....well....maybe later.  I'm just not feeling it yet and I don't want to just throw something up that I don't absolutely love!!

So...here's to March!!

One Little Word

I'm participating in Ali Edward's One Little Word class this year and I am so looking forward to growing with my word.

This year, I've chosen the word balance to carry me throughout 2012.

I was in full baby-mode in 2011 and I'm looking forward to adding a little more "balance" to my life.  My goals for this year were set with my word in mind.  I also have some other personal goals that revolve around my word.

I've decided to document my word with a simple 6x6 mini book using supplies I already have.  Below are a few images from our January prompt.

Painted canvas cover
(The label is just laying on the cover for now.  I can't decide if I like it enough to keep it...)

My journaling

For these pages, I included my take on "balance" and a picture of my running shoes.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this word takes me this year!
