My hubby and I made Sweet Girl a chalkboard for her birthday and it turned out fabulous! I originally saw the idea for a gigantic chalkboard over at Chasing Cheerios, but we wanted one that was a little smaller. It was so simple to make and it's been so fun having it outside now that the weather is a little warmer!
All you need is a piece of wood and some chalkboard paint!
We got our wood from Home Depot. They marked it down to half-price because it had a few "dings" on one side so it cost us $10.
We used painter's tape to tape of the edge so we could add a colored trim.
And here's the finished product! We love it!!
I have been dying to do something with chalkboard paint...I like the idea of a free standing board like this. Thanks for the idea:)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I have some chalkboard paint around here somewhere...I'll have to dig it out!
ReplyDeleteHi! I just recently found your blog and I LOVE IT! Where oh where do you find your great items - manipulatives and minatures? Any ideas of where I can get them would be great! Again, thanks for sharing your great ideas!
