Momma Made....Rainbow Peg People

I originally saw these at an Etsy site but couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for them!!  Instead...I decided to make my own!  They were super easy to make and painting them was very relaxing!  And...they cost me about $7!!  Can't beat that!

As you can see, I added pink to our rainbow.  I knew Sweet Girl would ask where the pink was if I didn't add that one too!!

  1. These are adorable and I've looked at similar sets on Etsy forever...what kind of paint did you use. I feel certain that I could make these for my little one. Did you seal them with anything? Thanks!

  3. I love these! Where did you find the wooden bowl type things to put the peg people in?

  4. Totally cute! Where did you get the supplies? I'd love to make these for my 2 year-old. I found your blog from 1+1+1=1 (I think!) and love all your ideas!

  6. Thanks everyone!!!! I got the wooden cups and people in the wooden craft section at Joann Fabrics. The cups came in an eight pack but the peg people only came in a pack of two so i ended up buying four sets of those. And i used regular gloss acrylic paint for all of them. I had to do two coats and it seems like it covered the wood very well!! The best part of the pre-packaged wood was that no sanding was needed. Remember
    ....I'm all about super simple!!

  7. I've seen these on Etsy too. I want to make some, where did you get the wooden pieces?

Oh I saw someone asked that question already :) We do have a Joann's near here, but I usually go to Hobby Lobby. I may check there first.

  11. I dipped some in food coloring and then lacquered them. We had to double dip some of the colors but is stains the wood. I like the glossy finish on yours.
